The Aprilia Dorsoduro was a V-twin line of motorcycles part of the supermotard class. The range comprised three models: the 750cc made from 2008 to 2015, the 1200cc produced from 2011 until the present, and the 900cc model manufactured from 2017 until the present.
In 2017, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia SMV 900 Dorsoduro, the middle model in the range manufactured until 2022. The bikes were named after the Dorsoduro region of Venice, whose name translates to "hard ridge."
The bike was powered by a stroked-out version of the 2007 Shiver 750 model, with a stroke increased from 56.4 mm to 67.4 mm to meet EURO4 emission regulations. The bike received a ride-by-wire system and three double-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, saving 2.4 kp (5.4 lbs) weight.
In the performance department, the 2017 Aprilia SMV 900 Dorsoduro had installed an 896cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine at its core, delivering 95 hp with a peak force at 8,750 rpm and 89 Nm (66 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.
The bike was built around a modular steel trellis frame with a 41 mm inverted fork on the front and an adjustable shock absorber on the rear.
In the braking department, the motorcycle packed two 320 mm stainless steel floating discs tied to four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 240 mm disc married to a single-piston caliper on the rear wheel.
