In 2008, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Aprilia SXV 450, a supermotard motorcycle, in its third consecutive year of production. The bike was available in 450cc and a slightly larger 550cc version.
The 2008 model came with several modifications, including new racing colors to express its aggressive nature, a new choke, a new linkage on the rear monoshock for increased traction and control, new settings on the front fork, new gearbox ratios, and a new Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
Visually, the bike had fitted standard features, like a high-mounted front fender, a small headlight, a single seat, a dual-sided aluminum alloy swingarm, an engine cover, and wire-spoke wheels with road tires.
For suspension, the bike packed a 48 mm adjustable telescopic fork on the front and an adjustable shock absorber on the rear, delivering optimum suspension performance and handling capabilities.
Braking-wise, the motorcycle's wheels were fitted with a 320 mm wave disc, a four-piston caliper on the front, and a 240 mm wave disc with a two-piston caliper on the rear, providing optimum braking performance.
As for the power figures, the 2008 Aprilia SXV 450 had its soul brought to life by a 449cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine with a fuel injection system in charge, delivering an output power of 60 hp with a peak force at 13,000 rpm.
