The Ducati Multistrada was a series of V-twin and V-4 touring-oriented motorcycles that debuted in 2003. The bike was designed by Pierre Terblanche and competed in the market with other dual-sports machines like the BMW GS.
In 2009, alongside the standard 1100 model, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Multistrada 1100S, a similar machine fitted with a race-derived Ohlins suspension package.
A 43 mm fully adjustable upside-down TiN-coated telescopic fork handled the bike's front end. At the same time, the rear was operated by a fully adjustable shock absorber with progressive linkage, delivering better suspension performance than the base model.
Compared to the previous model, the bike didn't feature any modification whatsoever, delivering the same specifications. In addition, the 2009 S model was completed by a new Pearl White color scheme and the new black with white stripe livery used on the GT 1000.
The 2009 Ducati Multistrada 1100 S had its soul brought to life by a 1,078cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine with a fuel injection system in charge, boasting 95 hp with a peak at 7,750 rpm and 104 Nm (77 lb-ft) torque at 4,750 rpm.
In the aesthetic department, the bike was fitted with standard features, such as a half fairing with an adjustable windscreen, a two-piece dual seat with a passenger grab handle, a dual exhaust system with mufflers mounted under the seat, and five-spoke lightweight aluminum wheels.
