In 2010, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Multistrada 1200S, a redesigned half-naked machine part of the Multistrada family that comprised various models with different engine displacements and similar appearances.
Compared to the standard model, the 2010 Multistrada 1200S model was fitted with a 48 mm fully adjustable upside-down Sachs telescopic fork on the front and a fully adjustable Ohlins shock absorber on the rear with Ducati Skyhook Suspension electronic adjustment, offering more ground clearance.
All three models in the 2010 line-up featured ride-by-wire with four riding modes, Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro. In addition, it featured an eight-level adjustable Ducati Traction Control (DTC).
The riding modes were selected by pressing the turn-signal cancel button. The Sport and Touring modes offered full power and softer throttle response with the Touring mode selected. Urban and Enduro modes offered only 100 hp to the table and delivered different levels of ABS and traction control.
As for the power figures, the 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200S had its heartbeat set by a 1,198cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 150 hp with a peak at 9,250 rpm and 119 Nm (88 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.
In the braking department, the 10-spoke alloy wheels were fitted with two 320 mm discs, four-piston Brembo calipers on the front, and a 245 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear, delivering excellent stopping power.
