In 2014, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Multistrada 1200S Granturismo, a machine based on the Multistrada 1200S Touring that featured several additions and enhancements that underlined its status as the range's flagship model.
The bike was fitted with larger side-mounted panniers, from 58 to 73 liters, and a top case with a capacity of 48 liters was fitted as standard equipment.
In addition, the bike featured a Ducati Performance Comfort Seat and a passenger backrest integrated into the top case, enhancing its long journey comfortability. The handlebar was 20 mm raised for a more upright riding position, and the screen was extended for more wind protection.
As for appearance, the bike was fitted with standard features, such as a front fairing with a dual headlight design, a two-piece dual seat with a passenger backrest integrated into the top pannier, a single-sided swingarm, 10-spoke lightweight alloy wheels, and a center stand.
The bike was fitted on the front with a Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) system with a 48 mm fully adjustable telescopic fork. At the same time, the rear end was operated by an electronic-adjustable shock absorber.
As for the power figures, the 2014 Ducati Multistrada 1200S Granturismo took its muscles from a 1,198cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine with a fuel injection system feeding the pistons. The engine delivered 160 hp at 9,500 rpm and 136 Nm (100 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.
