In 2007, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Sport 1000 Monoposto, a motorcycle inspired by the 1973 Ducati 750 Sport and the look of a classic, single-seat, lightweight cafe racer.
The 2007 Ducati Sport 1000 Monoposto was part of the Ducati Sport Classics range introduced at the 2003 Tokyo Motor Show and launched in production in 2006. It was manufactured for four years until 2009.
The 2007 machine packed the same features and specifications as the previous model, with a large, round headlight on the front, a large fuel tank, a single seat, a dual exhaust system, a side-mounted shock absorber, and wire-spoke wheels with Pirelli Phantom tires.
In the performance department, the 2007 Ducati Sport 1000 Monoposto had its soul brought to life by a 992cc four-stroke V-twin air-cooled engine fed by a fuel injection system, boasting 92 hp with maximum strength at 8,000 rpm and 91 Nm (67 lb-ft) torque at 6,000 rpm.
In the suspension department, the bike packed a 43 mm fully adjustable USD fork on the front with 120 mm wheel travel and a fully adjustable Sachs side-mounted shock absorber on the rear with 133 mm wheel travel.
As for braking power, the wire-spoke wheels were fitted with two 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front and a 245 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear wheel, delivering excellent stopping power.
