The KTM 1290 Super Adventure is an adventure touring motorcycle manufactured by KTM since 2015, when it replaced the KTM 1190 Adventure. The bike debuted in 2015 and was selected by Cycle World as the best adventure machine of 2015. Also, the bike was marketed as a high-performance adventure motorcycle.
The motorcycle has KTM cruise control and offers several safety features, such as Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC), Motor Slip Regulation (MSR), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), and LED cornering light for improved visibility in low light situations.
In 2016, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer launched the KTM 1290 Super Adventure, an adventure touring machine that sets standards for top-level travel segments. It delivers a relaxed and comfortable riding experience but can also be extremely quick.
The bike packs a half fairing with a large adjustable windscreen, new rider and pillion seats, Daytime running lights, LED turn signals, adjustable ergonomics, luggage rack and panniers, handguards, crash bars, and wire-spoke wheels.
Power-wise, the 2016 KTM 1290 Super Adventure has installed a 1,301cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine fed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system, boasting 160 hp with maximum strength at 8,750 rpm and 140 Nm (104 lb-ft) torque at 6,750 rpm.
Two 330 mm discs with four-piston calipers handled the stopping power on the front wheel, while a 267 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper managed the rear wheel.
