The KTM 790 DUKE was a naked motorcycle with a parallel-twin engine manufactured by KTM from 2017. Previously, the manufacturer only produced single-cylinder and V-twin engines, while the DUKE was their first parallel-twin-powered motorcycle.
Also, the KTM DUKE was the first middleweight naked machine that packed an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) in its electronics, including a Ride-by-wire system, fuel modes, and a multi-level traction control system.
From its starting point in 2017, the KTM 790 DUKE hit over 29,000 units, followed by the 2023 KTM 890 DUKE R, which placed the parallel-twin engine at the very top in the middleweight segment.
In 2023, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer introduced the new KTM 790 DUKE in a ready-to-race package. Also, the bike filled the gap between the KTM 390 DUKE and KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO and offered excellent rideability.
The 2023 KTM 790 DUKE featured the most advanced electronic package in the middleweight segment, including standard features, such as Cornering sensitive Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), Cornering ABS with a SUPERMOTO mode, three standard ride modes, a full-color 5-inch TFT display, and front and rear LED lighting.
In addition, the bike was available with several optional features, such as a quick-shifter, Motor Slip Regulation (MSR), Track mode, Cruise Control, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
As for power, the 2023 KTM 790 DUKE had its soul brought to life by a 799cc four-stroke two-cylinder engine with an electronic fuel injection system, boasting 105 hp and 87 Nm (64 lb-ft) torque.
