The ompany Malaguti was fouded in 1930 in San Lazzaro di Savena, outside Bologna by Antonio Malaguti. The company hired approximately 270 employees,

　　mainly in the single production facility in Castel San Pietro Terme, where the models developed has always been produced and tested. In autumn 2009, plans were presented for a hybrid-powered scooters.

　　Since no new investor was found, Malaguti has stopped production and closed the factory in November 2011
