MOTORHISPANIA

MOTORHISPANIA

Motorhispana is a motorcycle manufacturing company founded in 1948 and based in Spain, Barcelona. During the first years of existence, Oscar Rava, the founder of the company, started selling Lancia cars but because of the fact that Spain was encountering some financial problems, only a few people were actually interested in these vehicles.

After a few years, he decided to start producing bicycles, but he soon found out that mopeds could represent a more profitable business.

Rava bought the license for the 65cc Guzzi mopeds, and soon selected ISA, an aeronautical firm from Seville, as the company's main supplier. The most successful models sold by Motorhispania were the Guzzi Lario 110cc, the Guzzi 49cc and the Dingo 75cc.

During the 1970s, Motorhispania started producing its own models, the first ones being the Dingo 49cc, which was first manufactured in 1973, being followed by the Feria (1977) and the Poney (1978).

After a few years, the company abandoned the Moto Guzzi bikes, Motorhispania becoming more and more interested in motorcycles. The most notable motorcycle models are the Sport (1981), Cross 50 (1987) and Trail (1990).

At this time, the entire manufacturing process takes place in the company's 10,000 square meters production facility in Seville with the help of 115 employees. The company aims to export no less than 85 percent of its motorcycles to countries from all over the world, with the help of large network of dealers.

One of the latest motorcycles manufactured by Motorhispania, the RYZ SM 2006 model, comes with a single cylinder engine equipped with a liquid cooling system and a displacement of 49cmc and a chain final drive.

The bike comes with single disc front and rear brakes as well as with hydraulic fork front suspension and with monoshock absorber rear suspension.
