　　The 2012 MY Piaggio MP3 Touring 500 I.E. Sport has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 493cc, single cylinder Master engine paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and can produce 40 horsepower and 46.5 Nm of torque. The I.E. Sport has been designed for those trike fans that want more performance out of their machine, without sacrificing the trademark elegance, comfort, and agility. It features a parallelogram front suspension and dual rear shock absorbers, which ensure a plus ride, as well as improved cornering abilities.

　　What differentiates the I.E. Sport suffixed model from the rest of the MP3 family are a number of race-inspired features, such as the aluminium foot pegs, silver saddle-stitching, as well as a Matte Gray paint scheme and black-finished wheels, grab handle, exhaust heat shield and headlight tub.
