SCORPA

SCORPA

Scorpa is surely one the most popular trial motorcycle manufacturers in the world, the company being headquartered in Ales, France. Although it was founded by Philippe Aresten and Joël Domergue in 1993, the first model of the company was rolled out in 1994 when Scorpa released the Works 294, a motorcycle equipped with a Rotax engine provided by the famous Austrian engine manufacturer.

However, one of the most important milestones in the company's history is surely the partnership signed with Yamaha, the famous Japanese manufacturer which became the major provider of engines for the French company. The deal was made in 1998 and since then, Scorpa released multiple advanced motorcycles, all of them addressed to trial races.

For instance, the company developed a “long ride” motorcycle, dubbed SY-250, equipped with a Yamaha 4-stroke engine with a single cylinder and liquid cooling system as well as with a 5 speed gearbox and chain final drive.

Moreover, the year 2006 came with Scorpa 4Tricks, a limited edition motorcycle which is similar to a BMX bike, being equipped with several parts sharing the same appearance as those installed on bicycles.

Scorpa's motorcycle came with a 72cc engine equipped with a 2v single cylinder as well as with a 3-speed gearbox and a and manual-auto centrifugal clutch. Thanks to its engine and to its weight, 36 kg, the bike is able to reach a top speed of 65 km/h.

In order to celebrate its fifteenth anniversary, the French company launched a limited version of two of its motorcycles, namely SY-250FR 15th Anniversary and SY-250R 15th Anniversary.

In case you're wondering what's so special about these limited-version motorcycles, find out that they come with forged aluminum decks, triple clamps, carbon-made exhaust pipe protector and a laser-engraved “15th Anniversary” logo.
