The GSX Series was Suzuki’s lot of sport-touring motorcycles powered by four-stroke four-valve per cylinder engines. After the two-valve GS Series, Suzuki introduced the first GSX models in 1980, which were the next step in the four-stroke road bike range.
In 2014, at the INTERMOT Scooter and Bicycle Fair in Cologne, Germany, Suzuki unveiled the naked bike GSX-S1000/ABS, the model for the 2015 year, a street bike composed of the MotoGP GSX-RR and the supersport bike GSX-R. The engine based on the GSX-R100 was tuned to optimize public roads without messing with the low-mid torque and the high-rev output range. Suzuki adopted the push start system for the first time on their large displacement motorcycles.
The 2015 Suzuki GSX-S1000 ABS has at its heart a 999cc four-stroke inline-four liquid-cooled engine shaking hands with a six-speed manual transmission, hitting an output of 143 hp at 10,000 rpm and 106 Nm (78 lb-ft) of torque at 9,500 rpm.
The 2014 model has a new aluminum twin-spar frame focused on handling and control, and the swingarm is taken straight from the GSX-R. The suspension has an inverted telescopic coil spring, an oil damper on the front, and a link type, coil spring, and oil damper on the rear.
For braking purposes, the model has two Brembo 310 mm discs, four-piston calipers on the front wheel, and a 220 mm disc on the rear featuring ABS.
