The 2014 Silverado 1500 Double Cab evolved and promised a better experience for its owners. The Silverado lineup is mainly built for daily use, for small contractors and entrepreneurs. The optional “towing package” allowed trailers up to 11.500 lbs.
Just like the Crew Cab, the Silverado 1500 Double Cab offered room for five people . Maybe that's why it offered up to 5 USB charging ports and a 110v outlet. It had a choice of different beds in the back, and the longest was 6'6” long. In the rear, it featured a step sculpted in the bumper for easier access to the bed. Upfront, from the bumper to the hood, the entire grille was chromed. The Silverado 1500 had standard 17” wheels and up to 20” wheels were offered as an option.
The dashboard was plain and simple, yet it offered some modern technologies such as the infotainment system that could connect via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The Silverado 1500 is equipped with electric power steering instead of a hydraulic type.
Under the hood of this half-ton pickup, there were three engine choices: a 4.3-liter V6, a 5.3-liter V8, and a 6.2-liter V8. All of them featured direct injection, cylinder deactivation, and variable valve timing. For the 4x4 versions, a Hill Descent Control is available, which works together with the Auto Grade Braking from the standard 6-speed automatic transmission.
