DS Automobiles, Citroen's premium brand, introduced a facelifted version of the DS 3 Crossback in late 2022 for the 2023 model year and made some unusual changes.
The French automaker introduced the DS 3 crossover as a version of the three-door hatchback DS 3 and even named it "Crossback." But when the brand facelifted the vehicle, it also dropped that additional nameplate. It's not a step back but a different approach to the market—a market where the car didn't manage to attract too many customers.
Starting with the 2023 model year, the DS 3 not only that it lost its "Crossback" suffix but also the halogen headlamps as well. The automaker stopped offering them, and the entire range sported LED headlights. In addition, the facelifted version received a new lower spoiler fitted with aerofoils that surrounded the air intake.
Inside, DS Automobiles used only premium materials such as Nappa Leather and Alcantara. Furthermore, there was a new 10.3" high-definition infotainment display that controlled most of the auxiliary systems inside the vehicle. Also, the automaker installed new high-density foam when making the seats, thus improving comfort and providing better side support for front passengers.
Under the hood, the 2023 DS 3 received improved engines and a more powerful electric version that provided 20 more ponies to the front wheels.
