Genesis' small luxury sedan, the G70, gets a comprehensive update for 2022. On the outside is refreshed styling, including a larger shield-like grille, to better align its appearance with the brand's latest models such as the G90 large sedan and GV80 SUV. Interior upgrades are also on the list of changes to the 2022 Genesis G70, including a larger 10.25-inch infotainment system screen and more premium materials.

The new touchscreen is a big improvement over the previous unit, and it includes new features such as more natural voice recognition and over-the-air software updates. On the advanced driver aids front, the G70's new highway driving assist system uses lane centering and adaptive cruise control to take the edge off longer highway drives.
You're also in for a lot of fun when the road starts to curve. This is among the sportiest cars in the class thanks to lively handling and strong engines. The available 365-horsepower V6 is particularly rewarding — it produces prodigious power without having to work very hard. Also available is a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system that can enhance traction for wet-weather conditions as well as the G70's playful handling attitude.
Already a solid luxury sport sedan, the refreshed 2022 G70 exudes even more quality and attention to detail. It feels every bit as well built as its rivals, which include the Audi A4/S4, BMW 3 Series, Lexus IS and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Check out our Expert Rating for our test team's full report.

Performance
7.5/10How does the G70 drive? The G70 has a potent V6 and good steering feel, and it's easy to drive. The turbocharged V6 develops 365 horsepower, making it one of the quickest in class, and it sprints to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. With a healthy 376 lb-ft of torque on tap, the G70 doesn't have to do much downshifting, either. But we did find the transmission a little reluctant to downshift when we eventually called for it.
There's potential for the G70 to be a fun car to drive, but we found it a bit floppy in the corners. Its all-wheel drive lacks sophistication, and the all-season tires don't deliver the grip to balance out the power. Tires also affect braking numbers. Our test car came to a stop from 60 mph in 125 feet, which is subpar for the class.
Comfort
8.0/10How comfortable is the G70? The seats deliver the all-day comfort we expect from Genesis, and the suspension does a nice job of absorbing sharp bumps. The G70 has a noisier cabin than other luxury competitors. It's a very quiet cruiser on smooth roads, but road noise on rough pavement can be intrusive. The climate control does a good job of maintaining cabin temperature, and the seat heaters work quickly.
