After three decades of being on hiatus, Jeep revived the Wagoneer model name in 2022. The truck-based SUV was significantly larger than the Grand Cherokee, but with the existence of even bigger rivals like the Chevrolet Suburban and Ford Expedition Max, there was still room to grow the Wagoneer family. Enter the Wagoneer L, which is a full foot longer than the standard version and provides much more cargo space. This review covers the Grand Wagoneer L, which is the more luxurious and expensive upgrade to the standard Wagoneer L. This year, it returns with only a minor change to trim levels.

zzdcar spotlight: Spacious and capable
In many three-row SUVs, the rearmost seats are often best used for smaller passengers, and only occasionally. Larger vehicles such as the Grand Wagoneer have a wealth of space for adults, no matter which row you're in. Larger long-wheelbase versions typically increase passenger space, but since there's already plenty, the Grand Wagoneer L adds more cargo capacity. Compared to the standard Wagoneer, you get 50% more storage space behind the third row. Add in its 10,000-pound tow capacity and higher-than-average off-road abilities, and the Grand Wagoneer L should appease heavy-duty users.
Competitors to consider
The Jeep Grand Wagoneer L holds a strong advantage in regard to power, towing and interior space when compared to other large luxury SUVs, though the Lincoln Navigator comes close. That list of advantages could tip the scales in the Grand Wagoner L's favor for some shoppers. But for those prioritizing luxury and refinement over interior space and off-road adventures, a few models may be a better choice. The Mercedes-Benz GLS is one of the more opulent alternatives, along with the BMW X7 and Cadillac Escalade.
Which Grand Wagoneer L does zzdcar recommend?
Take a look at the base Grand Wagoneer L and you'll see a features list as long as a CVS receipt. This comprehensive set of features should easily satisfy luxury shoppers, providing little reason to step up to a higher trim level. Some of the more desirable features from those more expensive models are also offered as options on the base trim.
