Back in 2022, Jeep revived the Wagoneer model after a 30-year absence. This latest iteration represents the largest SUV in Jeep's lineup. As big as this three-row SUV is, that doesn't tell the whole story. The Wagoneer L that we're reviewing here is the even larger long-wheelbase version, measuring a foot longer nose-to-tail. For luxury-minded shoppers with deeper pockets, there's also the more refined Grand Wagoneer, reviewed separately. After its debut last year, the Wagoneer L returns largely unchanged for 2024.

zzdcar spotlight: The great indoors and outdoors
Space is key with large SUVs and it's one of the key upsides of the Jeep Wagoneer L. The added size significantly increases cargo capacity behind the third row compared to the standard Wagoneer — 50% more, according to the specifications, which is super useful if you regularly need to load your vehicle to capacity. Combined with the already spacious seats that can accommodate adults in the third row, the Wagoneer L is among the roomiest SUVs you can buy. With a best-in-class tow capacity of 10,000 pounds and decent off-road abilities, you can also get your passengers and gear to far-flung destinations.
Competitors to consider
While the swanky Grand Wagoneer competes in the luxury class, the Wagoneer L runs in a more down-to-earth segment. In the large SUV class, we like the Chevrolet Suburban and related GMC Yukon XL, with the GMC the more luxurious of the two. The Wagoneer L, though, holds an advantage in power, efficiency and towing. Another alternative is the Ford Expedition Max if you don't need quite as much space but still need strong towing capabilities.
Which Wagoneer L does zzdcar recommend?
The base Wagoneer L trim is already very generously appointed, and considering the price and feature content of the higher models, it's just not worth it to upgrade. Thankfully, most of the desirable items from those higher trims are available in the optional Convenience Group, including adaptive cruise control, heated second-row seats, wireless device charging and a surround-view camera system.
