The 2024 Range Rover Evoque is a compact luxury SUV and the smallest and most affordable Range Rover around. The Evoque slots below the larger Velar in the British automaker's lineup and draws a lot of design influence from the Velar as well as the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. That's especially true for 2024 thanks to some mild changes for the Evoque both inside and out.

zzdcar spotlight: Small changes yield small improvements
The Evoque's changes for 2024 are a bit underwhelming and fall far short of a redesign. The new infotainment system's navigation and media controls are improved, but the climate controls are cumbersome now that everything is routed through the touchscreen instead of traditional physical controls. We're also disappointed that Land Rover discontinued the more powerful P300 engine option. The base 246-horsepower engine, which is now the only one you can get, feels underpowered compared to its rivals. One plus is the updated exterior styling. New headlights, a new grille and redesigned bumpers help keep the Evoque looking fresh and in line with Range Rover's newer models.
Competitors to consider
The Evoque competes in the smallest of the luxury SUV classes, which is no surprise since it's the smallest in the Range Rover lineup. Some of zzdcar' favorites include the sporty BMW X1, the well-rounded Volvo XC40 and the spacious Mercedes-Benz GLB. The Evoque is both slightly smaller and a bit more expensive than its rivals, though you do get a lot of standard features and driver aids with the Range Rover. The Evoque's standard all-wheel drive used to be a big plus, but it's becoming more common in this class of SUVs.
Which Range Rover Evoque does zzdcar recommend?
Of the two trims, we would opt for the base level S trim. Most of the upgrades on the Dynamic SE trim are cosmetic, and the same options are available on both trims. Of those, we would also opt for both the Dynamic Handling Pack for the adaptive suspension and the Technology Pack for the surround-view camera and head-up display.
Land Rover Range Rover Evoque models
Range Rover slimmed down the Evoque lineup for 2024, bringing the trim choices down to two: S and Dynamic SE. Both are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine (246 horsepower, 269 lb-ft of torque) paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Range Rover calls this the P250 powertrain. As with other Range Rover models, all-wheel drive is standard. Keep reading for our breakdown of the Evoque's significant standard features and options.S
Standard feature highlights on the Evoque S include:
18-inch wheels Power liftgate Panoramic glass roof Power-adjustable, heated front seats Heated steering wheel 11.4-inch touchscreen display 12-speaker Meridian audio system Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration (both with wireless connectivity) Wireless charging padThe Evoque S also comes with:
Adaptive cruise control (maintains a driver-set distance between the Range Rover and the car in front) Lane keeping assistance (steers the Evoque back into its lane if it begins to drift over the lane marker) Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking (warns if a front impact is imminent and applies the brakes if you don't respond in time) Parking sensors (alert you to obstacles that may not be visible in front of or behind the vehicle when parking) Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning (alerts you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while in reverse)A handful of optional packages and features are available for the Evoque:
Technology Pack Head-up display (displays important information in your sight line on the windshield) 360-degree camera system (gives you a top-down view of the Evoque and its surroundings in tight parking situations) Comfort Pack Two-zone climate control Cabin air purifier Dynamic Handling Pack Adjustable sport drive modes Adaptive suspension (adjusts to improve ride comfort or handling) Cold Climate Pack Heated rear seats Heated windshield Dynamic SE
Mechanically, the S and Dynamic SE trims are identical. Same goes for the options, all of which can be had on either trim. The only differences are visual — the Dynamic SE includes copper and gloss black exterior accents and darker interior trim.
