　　The Lexus LC is a stunning grand tourer available as a coupe, convertible and hybrid. As the brand's flagship, the LC leans strongly into the luxury side of the sport/luxury spectrum with a rich interior design, a soft but controlled ride, and a heavily sculpted body. The cabin is a place where everything is nice to touch, though you might feel guilty doing so. Nothing inside the LC feels mass-produced. There's a sense of specialness and attention to detail here that's not present even in most Lexus models. And the only sound allowed to penetrate the interior is the muted wail of the 5.0-liter V8 (unless you opt for the hybrid). Every version of the LC is made for covering miles at high speed in tranquility and comfort. Few cars do it better.

zzdcar spotlight: New infotainment brings a much-needed update

The changes to the Lexus LC for 2024 are minor but meaningful. The biggest change, an updated infotainment system, makes a significant difference in the usability and look of LC's interior. The outgoing trackpad interface felt dated when it debuted about a decade ago and was heavily out of place in the otherwise ultra-modern LC. The new system uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen and shares control logic with other Lexus models. It is also much easier to use and includes a number of new features, such as over-the-air updates, a voice assistant, and additional connectivity options for emergencies and roadside assistance.

　　

Competitors to consider

The truth is the Lexus LC really only has one direct competitor that aligns with its mission, size and cost: the BMW 8 Series. But if you shop beyond the sport-luxury coupe segment cars like the luxury-focused Mercedes-Benz AMG SL convertibles and the more performance-focused Porsche 911 emerge as alternatives. Even the Chevrolet Corvette, which is a capable grand tourer as well, might be considered.

Lexus LC models

The 2024 Lexus LC is offered as a coupe and convertible in a single trim that comes with ample standard equipment. The LC is a 2+2, which means it has rear seats but they are too small for adults. A 471-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 powers both body styles through a 10-speed automatic transmission. A 354-hp hybrid coupe fitted with a 3.5-liter V6 and two electric motors is also available. It uses a continuously variable transmission paired with a four-speed automatic. Together they simulate a 10-speed automatic. All LCs are rear-wheel-drive. Feature highlights include:
