2024 Lincoln Corsair Review

He has written and edited many thousands of car reviews, technological deep-dives, industry analyses, and personality profiles. He is a correspondent at zzdcar and still has the 1969 Chevrolet C20 he dragged out of his parents' barn and drove until Car and Driver started giving him cars to evaluate.
The 2024 Corsair is the most affordable vehicle in Lincoln's exclusively SUV lineup. It's related to the Ford Escape small SUV, but it distinguishes itself from its Ford roots with refined styling that invokes its pricier larger siblings, a richer interior featuring upmarket touches like a digital instrument cluster, and an options list that includes an adaptive suspension that helps smooth out the Corsair's ride quality. A turbocharged four-cylinder is standard, while the available plug-in hybrid offers an estimated 27 miles of electric range.

zzdcar spotlight: Hands-free driving through BlueCruise
One other key upgrade over the Ford Escape is the availability of BlueCruise, which is Ford's and Lincoln's hands-free driving assist system. Using this system allows you to drive without your hands on the steering wheel on most divided U.S. highways, though certain driving conditions also have to be met. It's not a self-driving system by any stretch of the imagination, but it can help make driving a little easier and less fatiguing. Unfortunately, BlueCruise is only available on the most expensive versions of the Corsair, and it requires a subscription to keep its operation active after four years.
Competitors to consider
The compact luxury SUV class is a crowded house, ranging from the Corsair's crosstown rival, the Cadillac XT4, to competitors from around the globe. zzdcar' favorites include the top-rated Genesis GV70, luxurious Mercedes-Benz GLC, and big-on-value Acura RDX. The Corsair doesn't do a whole lot to stand out among this group, but it's worth a look if you're shopping for a plug-in hybrid or if a hands-free driving feature is something you're keen on having on your next SUV.
Which Corsair does zzdcar recommend?
Not only does Lincoln add standard equipment at each trim level, but the content of the major option packages changes as well. While the midlevel Reserve adds relatively little standard equipment, it's worth getting to further add the Collection II package, which includes the adaptive suspension. As much as we'd want BlueCruise, it's hard to justify the Collection III's five-figure upcharge to get it.

The Premiere and Reserve are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder generating 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. They are available in front- or all-wheel drive. The Grand Touring is only offered as an all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid, with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter and an electric motor combining for 266 horsepower and an EPA-estimated electric range of 27 miles before it switches over to typical hybrid operation. The Grand Touring uses a continuously variable automatic transmission. Highlights of each trim level include:Premiere
