The Maserati Quattroporte is a large, stylish and sporty luxury sedan that's now entering its ninth year of production for its current generation. The Quattroporte has been updated over the years, with more changes here for 2022, though the core bones of the vehicle remain unchanged. Turbocharged V6 or V8 power with a Ferrari-esque soundtrack is still a key draw, and this year the Quattroporte lineup has been simplified and slimmed down, with three trim levels largely differentiated by horsepower and not features.

Avg. Large Car
Despite its size, the Quattroporte can dance, especially in the Trofeo trim. Like Porsches, Maseratis tend to be a bit sporty from the get-go. The problem is that the Quattroporte doesn't do the luxury bit of luxury sport sedan very well. That's not to say it's not well appointed, but the interior is a bit dated and behind the times compared to the cabins of the Porsche Panamera, Mercedes-AMG GT sedan and BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe. If you want a little more utility, Audi offers the RS 6 Avant wagon and RS 7 Sportback models.
Germany may dominate this class, but there's something charming about the Maserati that you won't find elsewhere.
Which Quattroporte does zzdcar recommend?
We think the Quattroporte Modena is the way to go. It makes significantly more power than the base GT and is the only Quattroporte available with all-wheel drive.
