Rules are made to be broken, or so goes the expression. Look up the definition of a coupe, and what you read will not match what you see when gazing upon the rakish design of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. A traditional coupe has two entry doors, while a GLC Coupe has four. But if you agree that rules are not hard-and-fast strictures for living, then it's easy to accept this Mercedes SUV as a member of the coupe clan.

Avg. Midsize SUV
In exchange for the GLC Coupe's sleeker appearance, you'll spend several thousand dollars more while giving up some rear passenger room and cargo space in comparison to a standard GLC. The trunk measures 17.6 cubic feet, just 1.8 cubes less than a standard GLC. Fold the back seats down and you've got 49.4 cubic feet of volume at your disposal, falling short of a standard GLC by 7.1 cubes. Still, if you like the look of the GLC Coupe, then the compromises should be pretty easy to accept.
This year Mercedes cut the V8-powered AMG 63 model from the GLC Coupe lineup. So that leaves the GLC 300 4Matic Coupe and the performance-tuned AMG GLC 43 Coupe to satisfy your need for a stylish yet practical set of wheels.
The 2022 GLC Coupe faces off against rivals such as the Audi Q5 Sportback, BMW X4 and Infiniti QX55. The low-slung Genesis GV70 is also a potential alternative to the GLC Coupe. While a regular GLC is the more logical choice, picking the GLC Coupe among this group actually makes a good deal of sense.
Which GLC-Class Coupe does zzdcar recommend?
While the AMG GLC 43 Coupe certainly is fun to drive, we think a GLC 300 4Matic Coupe better serves most people. Its turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces satisfying acceleration, and with your savings you can upgrade the GLC 300 4Matic with extras such as AMG styling, leather seats, Burmester audio and a full slate of technology.
