The 2016 EMG E 63 4Matic+ was one of the fastest Mercedes-Benz E-Class ever produced. In fact, it was faster than a lot of sports cars on the market. And it was a great sleeper.
Large air-scoops on the lower bumper, a grille with two horizontal chromed lines, and a black mesh-grille would give the idea that the E 63 AMG is not the regular diesel car for a daily commute. A wide front apron inspired by the design of a jet wing, with flics in black and a large front splitter, impressively epitomized the power of the car.
The large vehicle may give some hints regarding its performances hidden under the elegant bodywork. The side badges on the front fenders placed neatly near the extracting vents for the wheel-well and side sills are just some of its clues. The trunk-spoiler in the rear might not look special since a lot of cars had such a sport-inspired detail. Also, the red calipers for the brakes and the large 19" wheels should tell a story of a fast car.
Inside the luxurious vehicle, there are few details regarding the performance hidden under the hood. A special "race-track" menu on the large infotainment system shows the time obtained by the E 63 AMG on the famous Nurburgring track, of 7m42s14". The bolstered bucket-seats up front and the large bench in the rear made room for up to five passengers.
Under the hood, the E63 AMG offered a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine that offered up to 612 hp for the S version, while the non-S featured 571 hp. Both versions were mated to a 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT (dual-clutch) automatic, which send the torque in all four corners.
