In 2016, Mercedes-AMG showed the most powerful V6 for the E-Class: the E 43 AMG. For this version, the german company didn't try to hide its performance under some subtle exterior changes. It went big, with a new front bumper with three big, large, air intakes to cool the engine and feed the two turbochargers. On the side, the standard high-sheen 19-inch AMG five-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black to give a nice view to the 360 mm (14.2in) disc brakes in the front and rear. The difference is that the front ones are cross-drilled and the rear ones are not.
The “power-department” offers 401 hp and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque and is mated to the specially tuned 9G-TRONIC gearbox with reduced shifting times. The all-wheel-drive system allows a fixed torque distribution front to rear of 31:69 percent. With all these combined, the performance is matching that of a sports car. The sprint from 0 to 100 kph (0-62mph) is achieved in 4.6 seconds.
To keep the car on the road, the AMG 43 4MATIC has a multifunction air-system suspension with specific configuration and offering three settings: Comfort, Sport and Sport-Plus.
Inside the cabin, the driver have a classic dashboard with two rounded dials in the front and a 4.5” multifunction color display. The readouts for the speedometer are going up to 280 kph (174 mph).
