2023 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Review

Let's get straight to the point: We do not recommend buying a Mitsubishi Mirage G4 sedan (or the standard Mirage hatchback, reviewed separately). We know it's a cheap new car with a good warranty. Skip it anyway and find yourself a nice used Honda Fit or something. You'll thank us later.
The Mirage G4's redeeming features include its low price and long warranty. It also gets good gas mileage. But we live in a world where the comparatively huge Honda Accord Hybrid effortlessly exceeds the Mitsubishi's rating of 37 mpg in combined driving, so that number isn't indicative of engineering excellence or efficiency gee-wizardry.
Indeed, listening to the Mirage's anemic 76-horsepower three-cylinder engine bleating loudly as you try to discern any sense of forward motion from within its cramped cabin will constantly remind you how far short of modern automotive standards the Mirage G4 falls. But, hey, it has standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so crank the four-speaker stereo up and try to drown out the ruckus.
We understand the appeal of a cheap new car with a low payment and a promise of decent reliability. Been there and done that. But if you're in the market for a low-priced set of wheels and you won't settle for anything less than a brand-new ride, we encourage you to check out the Kia Rio and Nissan Versa. They're much better vehicles for about the same price.
Which Mirage G4 does zzdcar recommend?
Since the point of choosing this Mitsubishi is to get a new car at the lowest possible price, the base ES model is the way to go. And don't bother buying any of the pointless and, frankly, expensive accessories for this Mitsu. If you can afford those, then you can afford a better vehicle than a Mirage G4.
