　　What is the Ram 2500?

　　Massive in both size and capability, the Ram 2500 heavy-duty pickup offers more grunt and, well, more of everything than its smaller but still capable 1500 sibling. Available with your choice of a 6.4-liter gasoline burning V8 or a powerful 6.7-liter inline six-cylinder diesel, the Ram 2500 can be had in two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive configuration. The latter offers as options a rugged low-speed transfer case and locking differentials for serious off-road work.

　　Customization is the name of the game with the Ram 2500, and with its multitude of trim levels, and optional equipment, the 2500 can be dressed up with copious amounts of leather and wood trim, or dressed down to work its whole life on a 1,000-acre ranch. Most notably for 2023, Ram introduced the Rebel trim to the 2500 lineup. Bridging the gap between the standard truck and the ultra-rugged Power Wagon, the Rebel offered the option of the diesel powertrain with its serious off-road hardware — something not available in the Power Wagon.

　　We don't foresee the Ram 2500 getting anything in the way of major upgrades to either styling or its powertrain options for 2024, but that doesn't mean it's likely to lose much, if any, ground to the Ford F-250 or Chevrolet 2500. All three of these trucks offer far more payload and towing capability than most buyers will ever need and can each be optioned out to suit a multitude of requirements.
