Kurt Niebuhr has worked in the automotive industry since 2005. A automotive photographer by trade, Kurt is now one of zzdcar' high-performance test drivers. He's driven and photographed hundreds, if not thousands, of vehicles all over the world, so Kurt's library of automotive experiences would certainly make for a good book. When not dreaming about getting his racing license or trying to buy out-of-date film for his cameras, Kurt can usually be found cursing at his 1966 Mustang.

What is the Phantom?
So recognizable is the Rolls-Royce Phantom that you could probably identify it from its silhouette alone. Looking all the world like a modern version of a car you'd find in The Great Gatsby, the Phantom has come to embody the luxury and bespoke craftsmanship of an earlier time. Still fronted by a massive handmade grille, complete with a retractable hood ornament, the Phantom is as imposing as it is luxurious. Propelled by a 6.7-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, the Phantom has the power to move its occupants effortlessly at any speed.
Rolls-Royce builds every Phantom to order so the odds of finding two alike is about the same as being able to actually afford one. As each Phantom can be customized down to the most minute detail, there really isn't a list of standard features as we know it for most other vehicles. Rest assured, the Phantom will have the best ride quality, quietest interior and most amazing craftsmanship any of us is likely to ever see. There are rumors of a refresh coming for the 2025 model, so we expect the Phantom to hold steady without any significant changes for 2024.
As far as ultra-luxury sedans go, the Phantom is essentially in a league of its own. Other options for buyers not looking for something a little more under-the-radar could find solace in the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class or the other massive British luxury sedan, the Bentley Flying Spur. While the Bentley offers the nearly limitless customization of the Rolls and the Maybach more impressive technology, neither of them can match the sheer luxury of the Phantom.

Even in today's world of affordable luxury, it's nice to know that some levels of luxury are simply reserved for the mega-rich. The Phantom might be unchanged for 2024, but don't let that stop you from getting in touch with Rolls-Royce to begin your commission today.
