For much of the last decade, Toyota's big SUV has languished in obscurity, overtaken by newer and more capable alternatives. That all changed last year when, at long last, the third-generation Sequoia debuted. As with its predecessors, the latest Sequoia is a truck-based three-row SUV. It's the kind of rugged rig you get when you want to haul a bunch of people, tow a heavy load, or possibly both at the same time. The Sequoia's turbocharged hybrid V6 engine is plenty stout and helps the Sequoia tow more than 9,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Avg. Large SUV
Since the Sequoia underwent a full redesign last year, we don't expect any significant changes for 2024. Thanks to its ample power along with a smooth ride and wealth of standard and available tech features, the Sequoia should remain a solid choice among SUVs in the class that include the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition and Jeep Wagoneer. The Sequoia's main drawback is its limited third-row space, but that shouldn't be enough of a drawback to keep it off your consideration list.
Which Sequoia does zzdcar recommend?
Toyota hasn't released official information on the 2024 Sequoia as of this writing. We'll update our recommendation if anything changes, but based on last year's Sequoia, we recommend the well-equipped base SR5 trim to get the most for your money. We also suggest adding the optional SR5 Premium package to get the larger infotainment touchscreen, the power third-row seats and synthetic leather upholstery that dresses up the interior.
