Bentley took its first win on home soil for 84 years at the second round of the Blancpain Endurance Championship at the Silverstone GP Circuit during May 2014. In honour of the GT3 victory, the Bentley Continental GT3-R has been developed for the road.
First off, the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 punches out 426 kW matched with 700 Nm of torque. From there the chassis engineers took shaved100 kg of weight from the Continental GT. This GT3-R now holds the record for the fastest accelerating Bentley as thanks to shorter gearing, it will ramp up to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
More raciness comes in the form of a reworked all-wheel drive system that, for the first time features torque vectoring allowing the power to be transferred to the wheel with the most traction available. This with a modified ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and a chassis tuned distinctly for cornering, make this Bentleys most agile Grand Tourer ever.
The Bentley Continental GT3-R even has its own unique soundtrack as an all-new titanium exhaust has been fitted that not only saves 7kg but also gives the GT3-R its own distinct roar.
Its not a race car once you step inside as Bentley has made sure the driver and passenger are bathed in the highest levels of luxury available. The interior is blessed with Alcantara seats and on the steering wheel trim. Bentley has also given the interior the full carbon fibre treatment as the dashboard and panels are crafted from the lightweight material.
Just 300 Bentley Continental GT3-Rs will be available and will only be available in the Glacier white paint you see here.
