Today’s Indianapolis 500 is full of unlikely mistakes from experienced hotshoes, and that’s exactly how to describe this bizarre pit lane collision between Townsend Bell, Helio Castroneves and Ryan Hunter-Reay. Seriously, what are they doing in today?
Bell tapped the car of Helio Castroneves, sending him spinning into Hunter-Reay’s car. Crew members were picking up after James Hinchcliffe’s pit stop as he’d just left his stall, so this collision sent one of Hinchcliffe’s crew members running.
C’mon, dudes. Behave in pit lane already.
IndyCar issued the No. 29 car of Townsend Bell a stop and go penalty for the unsafe release from his pit stall.
