Yesterday was April 1st; this is usually when #brands do #pranks like fake products or lame social media campaigns. These are all just sad excuses for publicity, but BMW of New Zealand decided to take a different approach.
BMW's New Zealand branch put an ad in a local paper that promised a "free car" to the first person to come to a specific dealership and ask for "Tom." Part of the "prank" was to find out who would actually show up and risk looking like a fool. One woman took the bait and ended up with a brand new 1-series.
Recently the about dealership advertisements that were too good to be true. We should still keep our guard up, but sometimes nice things really do happen with no strings attached.
