Ducati Teases 'The Most Powerful Ducati Naked Ever', The 2016 Monster 1200 R
Ducati Teases 'The Most Powerful Ducati Naked Ever', The 2016 Monster 1200 R-April 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:14:19

Ducati is finally sharing the first official images of the first of their new 2016 models and think they have something special with the new Ducati Monster 1200 R. If you were looking at buying a KTM Super Duke 1290 in the next few weeks - I might advise you to hold off.

Outside of these two images below and the vague claims of a more powerful engine and sportier chassis, we still don’t know much. The current Monster 1200 S makes 145 horsepower, which makes the current “most powerful Ducati naked” the Ducati Streetfighter 1098, which makes 155 horsepower.

Ducati is holding a press launch in Spain at the end of the month, but refused to tell us what bike the launch was for. What they did tell us was that the launch would consist of both track and street riding, a mix that suits a bike like the Monster 1200R perfectly...

The Monster 1200 R is set to be announced at the Volkswagen Group Night in Frankfurt on September 14th at 9 p.m. CET (4 p.m. EST). Tune back in then for full pictures and details.
