Is This Ridiculously Cheap Toyota Supra Worth Saving?
Is This Ridiculously Cheap Toyota Supra Worth Saving?-April 2024

The Toyota Supra is one of the most, if not the most desirable '90s Japanese cars on the market today. Its insane potential for supercar-crushing power and speed are largely unmatched to this day. , but the good news is that you can save it, for a great price.

. Although it doesn't have the popular twin turbo 2JZ-GTE engine with the GETRAG 6-speed manual that can handle in excess of 1000 horsepower at the wheels, both the turbo and non-turbo cars share the same platform. The engine blocks (naturally aspirated GE and turbo GTE) are nearly identical, and with the addition of a sizable turbocharger, this car can be just as fast as any twin-turbo variant, with 500 horsepower within easy reach.

While the car boasts a lot of expensive upgrades, I would be very, very cautious and concerned with how the modifications were done. It does look like most, if not all can be returned to stock in short order. Then you'd have a clean, 2 owner Toyota Supra, ready for some extreme power adders. Here's an excerpt from the seller's description:

Never touched any snow or harsh weather. Always garage kept in heated garage. Not a spec of rust, corrosion, oxidation, or anything, anywhere. Custom Lexus Anthracite paint (dark gray), 3M Clear Shield Paint Protector Film, Staggered 19" TSW wheels (19x8 in front 19x10 in rear), Veilside style 5pcs body kit (high quality), Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler (removable), HKS Exhaust, OBX stage 3 Headers and down pipe (sounds like a beast), K&N Intake Filter, Optima Red Top battery, Custom Suspension w/KYB AGX adjustable struts, drilled rotors, Bride Racing seats, Sparco 5 pt. harness, Bride seat sliders(done right), Bride steering wheel, Carbon Fiber dashkit (real CF with a one-off piece made just for this car), Double Din In-Dash Kenwood DVD Player. Too many little upgrades to mention them all. Strong Engine, tight suspension, feels like a brand new car still. I've never raced it or beat on it. When I bought it, it was stock and from 1 owner. I've had all work done either by Toyota or other highly recommended professionals.

Although the car does need some work and a few bucks in OEM replacement parts, at this price, it's the cheapest non-salvage title running Supra you will find on the market, and believe me, I've checked. It's a great platform for any car lover. .

I bought maybe the cheapest Porsche 996 Turbo—that’s right, —on the market a year ago, and I’ve mostly been happily stacking miles on the odometer since then. I have been working on making the car my own with a period-correct set of wheels, some extra carbon trim, and a...

Update: I'm Still Burning Money
When I I’d just picked it up from having Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 front and rear subframes grafted into its crumbling body. When the car came back to me in May, the clock started ticking. I had until mid-September to get the engine and transmission mounted in the car, clean...
