2023-12-14 EST 02:30:54

GWM have come to the party as a real contender in the affordable double-cab bakkie market in South Africa with the new GWMSteed 5 .GWM have made no secret of the fact that their Steed 5 is aimed at being an affordable alternative to many of the other double cab offerings in the country.

New GWM Steed 5 is affordable and packed with features

As for what’s changed, the previous Steed 2.8 TDI diesel engine has been replaced by a 2.5 TCI diesel. Also the front grille has been updated but the main sporty and tough appearance has been retained from the current version. Under the hood the Steed 2.5 TCI diesel produces a maximum output of 80kW at 3400 rpm while the 2.4 4G69 petrol variant produces 100kW at 5200 rpm.

Even with the affordable price, the new GWM Steed 5 is offered with comprehensive safety features. It comes with ABS, EBD, dual airbags and front fog lamps. To add to the already impressive value, the new GWM Steed 5 comes with a 3-year / 100 000km warranty, along with a 2 year 24-hour roadside assistance service package.

Now onto the price, the Steed 5’s biggest selling point.
