Porsche recently announced itwill be selling the2014 Macan compact crossover with a base four-cylinder engine which will be available by the end of 2014, and now some new spec details about the engines are starting to emerge.
According to Car Magazine UK, the new engines will range from 1.6 to 2.5-litre displacements using a flat-four cylinder configuration and will be turbocharged, as well as feature direct injection.
The entry-level 1.6-litre engine will reportedly deliver 156 kW of power, while the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine will produce 213 kW and 399 Nm of torque. Lastly, the 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine is expected to produce 268 kW with 470 Nm of torque.
The engines will be connected to either a six-speed manual gearbox or Porsches seven-speed PDK transmission.
The Porsche four-cylinder boxer engines are expected to debut first in the Boxster and Cayman before being added to other models.
