Long Term Report 2

The Nexon has completed a month in the Carwale garage and has managed to rack up a good number of km, over 2000 to be specific. Overall, the Nexon has performed flawlessly and hasn’t given any reason to grumble at all. In this report we shall look at a few things that makes the Nexon easy to live with and not so easy to live with as well.

Let’s start with the mileage. Since my commute is almost 80 km on a daily basis, this is one of the most important parameters for me and the Nexon has performed brilliantly. With 60 per cent of driving in the city and 40 per cent on the highway, the Nexon has been consistently returning 17-18 kmpl and doing over 650 km on a full tank.

Long commutes need comfortable seats and the Nexon’s seat has been keeping me pretty comfortable in almost all situations. However with the Mumbai roads throwing a barrage of potholes in the Nexon’s path, the driver seat has developed some squeaks which needs to be looked into.

Since we are on the topic of interiors, another strangely annoying issue that I found was with the USB port. Since it’s located in a small storage pocket, there is a bit of an issue connecting the cable to it if you have slightly large size hands. It’s always a bit of a struggle for me to use the USB port.

And finally we come to the ride quality which again is very impressive. It feels a little stiff at lower speeds but improves considerably once the speeds get higher. With more potholes and less roads in the monsoons, the Nexon’s suspension does a superb job.

For now the Nexon has only been used as a commuter, but the coming month will see some leisure trips. Let’s see how much fun the Nexon can be.

BS6 Skoda Rapid Review: Pros and Cons
IntroductionWhat we have here is the BS6 Skoda Rapid. Currently, not the most popular body style, you’d agree, but the driving dynamics of this sedan have their charm. Something I’ve always appreciated through the years. But that aside, what’s really new in this car is what’s under that bonnet. An...
