$11,000 1967 Fiat 850 Spider Project Car
$11,000 1967 Fiat 850 Spider Project Car-October 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:10:19

For today's you'll need to start dressing right, because we've got an almost-there, '67 for 11 grand, and they don't afford you much left-side legroom.

Last time, 67% of you arm chair Andrettis thought the was Nice Price worthy. Today, we've got a petite, topless-loving italian to test your automotive pricing BS meters. It's a '67 Fiat 850 Spider with a Buy-It-Now price of 11,000. That's dollars, not lira.

Do you like the look of vintage Can-Am cars? Got 40 grand to drop so you can fulfill your track…

That's a lot of chianti and pizza for a Fiat with an engine smaller than most Harleys. But these are cars that engender a lot of love from their owners, and the current title holder does seem to have a soft spot in his head heart for the cars. That's not to say he's not taking a hardline on the price. The seller threatens to part it out if he doesn't get his price - selling it off piece by piece - much as a mobster might do seeking ransom for a captured adversary.

The description of this red, rear-engine roadster claims many a new part, and not only a bored 965cc engine, but twin solex 40mm side draughts. That may seem like a lot of carburetor for such a little engine, but those velocity stacks sure look nice.

Now, you should note that this 850 is not a runner- it is a Fiat after all. The seller says it's 85% done, and has 99% of the parts necessary for completion, including $8,000 in NOS parts on or about the car. So keep that in mind as you judge it.

So what will it be with this espresso-sized two seater? Is $11,000 a nice price for this Italian-red roadster, or is the seller 85% of the way to crack pipe, with 99% chance he's not going to get that price for it?

You decide!

I'm Getting Too Old For My Hot Hatchback! What Car Should I Buy?
Evan is pushing 30, and his MazdaSpeed3 is just a little too loud and brash. He wants something fast with a bit of practicality, but it can’t scream “I have my traffic lawyer on speed dial.” At this stage of his life, he needs to look somewhat professional. What car...

Would You Drop $20,000 to Play Let’s Pretend in This 2004 VW Phaeton W12?
Once upon a time, VW imagined they were Mercedes Benz and built cars like today’s Phaeton W12. It’s a luxurious reminder of the company’s delusions of grandeur, but can it still bring the big bucks? A unique interior, oddly angled V6 turbo diesel engine, and a three-pointed star in the...

Here Is Why Some Dealerships Aren’t Actually Interested in Selling You a Car
You would think this whole “” thing would be easy for dealers, especially if an interested customer comes in with a serious intent to buy. But you would be surprised how uninterested some stores are in selling certain cars to certain buyers. If someone is looking for your run of...

At $31,500, Would You Dip Your Toes Into The Three Rows of This 2013 Mercedes Benz GL350 Designo Bluetec?
The full name of today’s GL350 includes a couple of surnames—Benz and Diesel—and a couple of made up words—Bluetec and Designo. Let’s see if all together they make up a car worth it’s asking. It’s not the cough that carries you off, it’s the coffin they carry you off in....
