Kia has taken the wraps off the 2015 Optima which was significantly updated last year, but now offers upgraded technology and subtle interior changes for the new model year.
The car features limited exterior changes and remains available in LX, EX, SX, SX Turbo and SX-limited trims. It comes with three new exterior colours: Platinum Graphite, Sparkling Silver and Smokey Blue. It additionally gains an acoustic laminated windshield which reduces noise from the outside environment and is much lighter and reduces vehicle weight.
Inside, the 2015 Kia Optima is equipped with updated upholstery and a revised steering wheel which has a different button layout. The sporty D-shaped steering wheel found in the SX-Limited gets new brushed bezels, and the stitching is now offered in a contrasting white. Theres also a black cloth option for the LX model.
Available as an option on the EX, SX and SX Turbo models while being standard on the SX-Limited is Kias next-generation UVO eServices that now offers additional features designed to keep the owner better informed through a smartphone. Four new services have been integrated including Geo Fencing, Driving Score, Speed Alerts and Curfew Alerts.
A variant of the UVO eServices is available without the four new features as an option on the LX model, but continues to offer a wide range of telematics and infotainment systems including My POI, eServices Guide, 911 Connect, Car Care Web, Parking Minder and Vehicle Diagnostics.
The 2015 Kia Optima will go on sale in the U.S in the next coming months. South African availability is yet to be confirmed.
