500000th Audi A1 Built-February 2024
2023-12-14 EST 02:30:49

Despite the fact that the automotive media was very sceptical on the progression of the Audi A1 and how it got off to a slow start, the company has announced the 500000th Audi A1 model has rolled off the assembly line in Brussels – proving much success for the car.

Four years later and exactly on the half a million mark, the 500000th Audi A1 to roll of the line to a customer in Germany, was a regular three-door model adorned in Misano red exterior and boasting VW’s 1.4-litre TSFI engine.

Audi A1 facts

Besides announcing the half a million production milestone, Audi has shared a number of facts about the A1.

According to the company’s research, Germany is their biggest market, followed closely by the UK and France. The company also says 80% of buyers are new to the brand and 69% buy an A1 with a manual transmission.

Their most popular colour is white, with 34% of buyers having opted for it. In addition, 31% of A1 owners have the more expensive S tronic 7-speed twin-clutch automatic – a huge percentage for such a small car.
