The Jeep Compass and Patriot models have aged and the brand is now replacing them with an all-new Compass that will be manufactured in Goiana, Brazil. The new Jeep Compass will be showcased at the LA Motor Show and Jeep says the model will offer 17 fuel-efficient powertrain options for more than 100 countries worldwide.
Furthermore, Jeep believes the new Compass will offer “an unmatched combination of attributes that includes legendary and best-in-class 4×4 off-road capability, advanced fuel-efficient powertrains, premium and authentic Jeep design, superior on-road driving dynamics, open-air freedom, and a host of safety and advanced technology offerings”.
Should Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) decide to build the new Compass in RHD (which we believe is highly likely, probably at the Melfi plant in Italy) it will probably be offered in South Africa, as our market already offers two products that share the Compass' platform (Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X). More so, if you considerthe popularity of crossovers in the South African market, the Compass should sell well here. Further details regarding the new Jeep Compass are slim at this point, but we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
