Avis iPhone App: Reserve Your Rental Car Reach-Around On-The-Go
Avis iPhone App: Reserve Your Rental Car Reach-Around On-The-Go-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:10:18

Yesterday, released a rental car reservation app for the iPhone, allowing you to reserve a car from any Avis rental location with an easy tap-and-type interface that's easier than using a web browser.

Although we think maybe they need to have someone take a quick run-through of the pictures they're using for each vehicle. Somehow we don't think the Ford Fusion's a GM product (check the gallery for further proof) or that there's any Avis location that'll rent you a Pontiac G8 GXP.

Also, for some reason, it shows that Detroit Metro airport has no cars to rent. Ever. Somehow we don't think Detroit's such a tourist and business attraction that they've completely sold out. But otherwise, the app seems fairly robust. Check it out in the gallery below, or download it . Don't worry, it's free. Unlike the "GPS upgrade" on your rental.

The 2020 Audi S4 Drives Like A Proper Sports Sedan Without Excess
Sporty sedans may not be getting as much consumer love as they deserve these days, but there are still a few good ones tooling around. Namely, the 2020 . It’s still little(ish), still fun, still lithe, still puts a smile on your face. These are all things a good sport...

With Many Dealers Forced To Close, Is Now A Good Time To Sell My Car Privately?
As Jalopnik’s resident car buying expert and professional car shopper, I get emails. Lots of emails. I’ve decided to pick a few questions and try to help out. This week we are discussing private sales during Coronavirus, buying a car without a dealer-installed alarm, and checking dealer inventories for...

At $16,800, Does This 2014 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 R-spec Coupé Have The Invisible Touch?
With its weird side window and weirdly compelling R-spec kit, today’s Hyundai Genesis is a pretty unique ride. Let’s see if this low-mileage coupé is compellingly priced to be the start of something big. I’ve been staying home of late, a situation that’s allowed me time to do some...

At $6,200, Would You Plug Into This 2012 Chevy Volt Premium?
Hybrid cars and trucks seem to have fallen out of favor in the face of pure electrics and low fuel prices. That doesn’t mean a plug-in like today’s Volt doesn’t still have its appeal. Let’s see just how jolting a price this innovative Chevy might carry. Have you ever...

At $15,000, Could This 1966 Ford Bronco Be A Big Bucking Deal?
At $15,000, Could This 1966 Ford Bronco Be A Big Bucking Deal?
Ford may have lost out to Willys for the design of the WWII Jeep, but as today’s Bronco attests they eventually could compete with its civilian stepchildren. With a new Bronco likely delayed, let’s look at what this old-school edition could conceivably cost. Yesterday’s may not have been the...

The 2020 Audi Q7 Is A Serene Cloud On Wheels, Just Don't Make It Tackle Twisty Roads
As far as mild refreshes go, the is indeed mildly refreshed. From the outside, I wasn’t able to tell the difference between it and the previous version until someone from Audi put two photos side by side for me. No, all the changes are within for this one, which is...
