I don’t think the Florida tourism folks could have paid for a more perfect ad than the one they got today. Everyone toughing it out at the 6 Hours of the Glen in New York is freezing their nuts off in the unseasonably cold rain, and Richard Westbrook just drove their Florida-branded car to a win here today.
Westbrook lucked out when Joey Hand’s leading Daytona Prototype pitted for fuel right before the number 007 TRG-AMR Aston Martin spun into the wall. The Aston spin brought out a yellow flag that lasted until the end of the race.
Team Falken Tire got their first win of the year in GTLM with their Porsche 911 RSR, Riley Motorsports extended their North American Endurance Cup lead with their number 93 car’s win in GTD. Prototype Challenge was won by the best looking PC car ever, the Martini-liveried Starworks Motorsport entry.
But no, it was the VisitFlorida.com Racing car whose win seemed to mean the most of all, mainly because we’re all soggy and cold here.
Florida, , but being there doesn’t sound like a terrible idea right now.
