Well, this is certainly the most audacious, bodacious, extraordinary in top-tier motorsports so far this year. It’s also a good reminder that rallycross is incredible.
Kevin Eriksson (that’s him in the little red and white Fiesta) found himself on the outside of the pack going into the first corner of yesterday’s World Rallycross round in Germany. In any other racing series, this would be a disadvantage you just couldn’t overcome. In any other grip-not-slip series today, there’d be just no room to make a clean pass that far over on that tight a turn.
But rallycross doesn’t need clean passes.
