Apparently The Colorado Division of Wildlife has a very unconventional way of rapidly restocking remote mountain lakes with fish, they drop them from the air! It looks insane.
There is a small fleet of modified Cessna 185s that fly around stocking 300 individual lakes with Cutthroat Trout as high up as 12,000 above sea level. Each mission can see thousands of fingerlings dropped from on high.
So next time you are camping up in the Rockies and a small fish lands in your beer you shouldn't worry about the world ending.
