How Much Power Does the 2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Make?-April 2024
2025-02-20 EST 06:05:36

Yamaha’s Tracer 9 GT+ is the Japanese manufacturer’s flagship sport-touring model. For 2024, Yamaha moved the standard Tracer 9 GT upmarket with the “+” edition, adding advanced tech features such as Adaptive Radar Cruise Control, Radar-linked Unified Brake System, and electronically adjusting KYB suspension. For 2025, the Tuning Fork brand reverted to the standard Tracer 9 GT, discontinuing the GT+ from the American market..embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }So it appears advanced electronic features were not the main appeal of the Tracer 9 GT in the States. The 2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ has an MSRP of $16,499. The 2025 Tracer 9 GT has an MSRP of $12,599, and that $3,900 difference seems to be key.Regardless, we loved the Tracer 9 GT+ when we rode it for the first time at its introduction in 2023 and it instantly sparked our appetite for a resurgence in sport-touring. It became an office favorite for its sporty nature, touring comfort, and CP3 engine; based on its features and value, we named the GT+ the Cycle World Ten Best Touring Bike for 2024. Tracer 9 GT+ weighed 515 pounds with its 5.0-gallon fuel tank full on the CW scales. The 890cc DOHC liquid-cooled inline-three engine is one of our favorite powerplants in motorcycling whether it’s in the Tracer 9 GT+, MT-09, or XSR900. And we can’t wait to ride the newly announced Yamaha YZF-R9.

How Much Power Does the 2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Make?1

On Cycle World’s in-house Dynojet 250i dyno, the 2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ produced 105.8 hp at 9950 rpm and 62.4 lb.-ft. of torque at 7050 rpm. For reference, the 2023 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso SCS produced 98.3 hp at 11,010 rpm and 55.3 lb.-ft. of torque at 8530 rpm. The Tracer’s flat torque curve and linear power delivery provided excellent acceleration over a broad rpm range, making it a flexible powerplant whether you are commuting to work, traveling across state lines, or carving up a twisty mountain road.

How Much Power Does the 2023 Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP2 Make?
You might think the Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP2 looks like a naked MotoGP bike as it flashes by. And you wouldn’t be completely wrong. At the heart...
