The spacious floors of the Messe Frankfurt exhibition hall will soon turn into a sea of cars and people. Come September and the Germans will host, in these halls, one of the most awaited auto shows in the world- The Frankfurt Motor Show.
This 66th edition of the motor show will take place from September 17 to September 27. It is of major importance to the car buyers in India as many of the models that will be displayed are expected to come here in 2016.
Our excitement got the better of us and so we put together a little preview of all the India-bound cars to give you an idea of what expect in 2016.

2. 2016 BMW X1
Unveiled in June this year, this second generation X1’s biggest change is that it has now moved to the UKL 1 FWD platform. It is now bigger, more spacious and obviously being offered with a load of new technologies developed by the Bavaria-based automaker.
3. Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG
It has been the biggest and most powerful C-Class on sale for the last five years and now there is a new one. As has been the case before, this car looks like its standard sibling but with some mind-blowing performance thanks to the 500+bhp output from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8.
4. Mitsubishi Pajero Sport
Now into its third generation, Mitsubishi’s massive Pajero Sport has got a new look and turbocharged 2.4-litre diesel engine. It is expected to make an Indian debut next year and is expected to be offered only with an automatic transmission.
5. Ferrari 488 GTS
When it was launched last year, the Ferrari 488 GTB came into the headlines for being the first turbocharged Prancing Horse ever. Riding the success wave, Ferrari will now launch the convertible version, a.k.a the 488 GTS, at the Motor Show next month.
6. Lamborghini Huracan Spyder
The Lamborghini Huracan had some big shoes to fill when it was launched in 2014 signalling the end of the Lamborghini Gallardo, and it has managed to do so without losing a step. Now, looking to take things further and in almost the same logical progression as its predecessor, Lamborghini will take the wraps off the Spyder at the motor show next month. It is expected to come to India by the middle of 2016.

10. Jaguar F-Pace
Jaguar took the motoring world by storm when it took the wraps off the CX-17 SUV two years ago. Since then, it has been a steady stream of spy pictures and eventually a camouflaged debut at the 2015 Tour De France. Now, the SUV will debut at the motor show and then go on sale a few months later. Given our love for luxury SUVs, there is a very high possibility that they will launch it just a short while after the XE sedan’s Indian debut.

The Bentley Bentayga may be the most outlandish experiment that the British automaker may have undertaken in recent times, a complete departure from the normal body styles that it builds. Expect high levels of luxury and a price tag of over Rs 2 crore when it hits our shores in late 2016.
