If imitation is the highest form of flattery, the Ford Raptor should be blushing its face off when the Chevrolet Reaper hits dealerships.
Besides a phonetically similar name, the jacked-up Silverado features pretty much the same graphics package as Ford's raging dinosaur. The also packs a Corsa exhaust, Lingenfelter supercharger, Fox suspension and 33" tires on 20" wheels, a some interior prettying, and very angry looking bodykit.
I have a strong feeling that bodykit is the product of PhotoShop, but I'd like to hear the opinion of you discerning readers on that.
Though the Reaper's website claim it will be sold through legit Chevrolet dealers, it's not exactly built by the bowtie. It's being pitched as a tuner truck jointly build by Lingenfelter and , the latter of which which makes obscene body kits and interior upgrades for GM trucks, vans, and the Camaro.
The important stuff, like the price and performance numbers, have not yet been announced. Whether this thing ends up becoming a modern classic or turns out to be a limp-dicked roadside attraction to draw more people into Chevy shops all depends on what it does when it hits the dirt, so keep your eyes on Truck Yeah! for updates.
