Kia India registers a sale of 22,322 units in August 2022

- KiaIndia recorded a Y-o-Y growth of 33.27 per cent

- The total production for the brand has already crossed 2 lakh units this year

Kia India recorded a sale of 22,322 units in August 2022, thus registering a Y-o-Y growth of 33.27 per cent. The carmaker introduced the Sonet X-Line in the country earlier this week, with prices starting at Rs 13.139 lakh (ex-showroom).

Coming to the sales numbers, the Kia Seltos registered a sale of 8,652 units, followed by the Sonet, Carens, and Carnival with 7,838, 5,558 and 274 units, respectively. The company sold 1,66,167 units in the domestic market in the first eight months of CY22, which is 29 per cent higher compared to the same period last year.

Since the beginning of 2022, Kia has sold over 1.20 lakh units of the Seltos and Sonet combined, wherein Seltos has contributed 65,513 units and the Sonet, 55,740 units. The Carens, meanwhile, contributed to a total of 42,489 units, with an average of over 6,000 units each month since its launch. Combining exports with its domestic sales, the company has crossed the 2.20 Lakh cumulative sales mark this year. Kia India has also recorded its highest ever monthly export figure, dispatching over 8,100 units in global markets last month.

Commenting on the occasion, Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing, Kia India, said, 'We have been observing upward sales momentum since the beginning of this year, and it is a good sign for the Indian automotive market. Comparing the quarters, our monthly average so far for Q3 of 2022 stands at 7.8 per cent over Q2 and 10.9 per cent over Q1 of this year, indicating gradual improvement in supply chain constraints and healthy consumer sentiment. With the demand and supply curve staying positive, we are optimistic that an excellent festive season in terms of sales is ahead of us. Intending to provide a more enhanced, premium, and exclusive product experience to our customers, we also launched the Sonet X Line earlier this week. In order to inject fresh enthusiasm in our customers, we have recently launched a refreshed version of Seltos with six airbags as standard fitment, making it the only SUV in the segment offering the safety feature.”
