Lamborghini Finally Gets Serious About Racing With Huracán GT3
Lamborghini Finally Gets Serious About Racing With Huracán GT3-November 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:49

If you've ever wondered why pants-on-face-bonkers supercar manufacturer Lamborghini doesn't really have a factory racing effort, well, they're about to fix that. They're developing a for FIA GT3 racing. You're welcome.

Lamborghini has dabbled in racing for years, both with the one-make as well as giving some support to the team of , who have run Diablos, Gallardos and Murciélagos in the past.

Remember the Gallardo Super Trofeo? That was an all-wheel drive car with 570 horsepower. The new…

Now Lamborghini is developing a car for FIA GT3 racing through its own in-house motorsports arm. The car will be mostly based on the production Huracán, but shed a few hundred pounds off of its curb weight to comply with GT3 standards. This entry from Lamborghini places it head-to-head (or rather, wheel-to-wheel) with the new . I can't wait to see this much awesomeness on one track at once. While we're at it, does anyone else want to announce a new GT3 car today? The more, the merrier.

BMW has been racing the Z4 in GT3 competition since 2010. While it is still cool, it is getting…

All I Want For Christmas Is Something To Do
Grandpa had a chair. Our family always joked that any presents we bought him would end up behind this chair, as he was a true child of the Great Depression: he made do with what he had and didn’t want for more. I didn’t just inherit this chair—I seem to...

Please Let Max Verstappen Rip More Donuts In Formula One Cars
Formula One cars are pretty rad, as are sweet tire-destroying donuts. Fortunately, Red Bull keeps its V8-powered RB7 car around to show off. “This thing’s sick” is perhaps the biggest understatement of the year. The Hoonigans got the full walkaround of Red Bull’s show car at SEMA this year, which...

Formula One Has A Frustrating Echo Chamber Problem
Formula One Has A Frustrating Echo Chamber Problem
Something has been blatantly missing from much of the public debate as to whether Formula One should get rid of grid girls: womens’ opinions. We’ve heard from a number of male drivers and team heads, who all seem to trot out the same tired arguments about how it’s a tradition,...

This Enormously Powerful Mercedes Racer Sounds Like NASCAR On Steroids
You ever wonder what a race-bred, , twin-turbo Mercedes 5.0-liter V8 sounds like? It sounds like rage and fury and everything nice. It sounds like NASCAR on amphetamines. It’s the Mercedes-Benz C11, and it’s perfect. The C11 was dominant in the 1990 World Sports-Prototype Championship, winning both the Drivers’ and...

When No One Was Sure Ayrton Senna Would Stay In Formula One
There was one weird offseason when no one was quite sure if Formula One legend Ayrton Senna was going to stick with F1. On December 20, 1992, Senna came to Arizona to test a Penske PC21-Chevy. It was the only time Senna ever floated the idea of running IndyCar, and...
